This Week’s Winner of The Teflon Weasel Award – Nancy Pelosi
ByWe had many people eligible for this week’s Teflon Weasel Award, but none more worthy than Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Even as she continues to get regular briefings from the intelligence community, Speaker Pelosi has refused to back up her accusations that the CIA lied to her and Congress.
Even after CIA Director Leon Panetta’s rebuttal, Speaker Pelosi said that she stands by her statement.
Meanwhile, Breitbart reports that the House rejects probe into Pelosi CIA claims as “House Democrats defeated a Republican push to investigate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s claims that the CIA misled her in 2002 about whether waterboarding had been used against terrorism suspects.”

Here’s an excerpt from a Fox News article:
“House Minority Leader John Boehner on Thursday stepped up his calls for Speaker Nancy Pelosi to come clean after she accused the CIA of lying to Congress about Bush-era interrogation techniques employed on terror suspects.
“She’s made this outrageous claim,” he said, asserting that it has undermined the ability of intelligence officials to keep America safe. Pelosi, he said, “believes that it’s just all going to go away. Well, just trust me: It’s not going to go away.”

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) at her weekly press conference yesterday continued dodging questions about her accusations that the CIA lied to Congress about waterboarding terrorist detainees.
Pelosi was pressed by reporters on whether she continued to receive briefings and admitted that she is still receiving the CIA presentations. She refused to answer when this humble correspondent asked whether or not she believes intelligence professionals are still lying to her.
House Republican leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) spoke about Pelosi’s continued stonewalling at his own presser that followed shortly afterward.
‘It’s been three weeks since I asked Speaker Pelosi to back up her allegations that the CIA lied to her or purposely misled her,’ Boehner said. ‘She made this claim, and it’s her responsibility to either put forward evidence that they did, in fact, lie to her, which would be a crime, or she needs to retract her statements and apologize. Allowing this to hang out there is unconscionable. And I just think the — the silence from Speaker Pelosi is deafening.’
Boehner said that Pelosi ‘believes that it’s just all going to go away. Well, just trust me: it’s not going to go away.’”
