Fox News reports on the latest crap from Hollywood.
Comedian Larry David is under attack from critics who say he pushed the mocking of religion and Christian belief in miracles over the edge in the latest episode of his HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
On the show’s most recent installment, which aired Sunday, David urinates on a painting of Jesus Christ, causing a woman to believe the painting depicts Jesus crying.
Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, responded to the episode, saying David should “quit while he’s ahead,” and that the show is proof that the comedian’s best years are behind him.
“Was Larry David always this crude? Would he think it’s comedic if someone urinated on a picture of his mother?” Donohue said in a statement. “This might be fun to watch, but since HBO only likes to dump on Catholics (it was just a couple of weeks ago that Sarah Silverman insulted Catholics on ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’) and David is Jewish, we’ll never know.”
During Sunday’s episode, David, who created, wrote and produced “Seinfeld,” visits a bathroom in his assistant’s home and splatters urine on a picture of Jesus. Instead of wiping it off, David leaves the restroom. Minutes later, David’s assistant enters the bathroom and concludes that Jesus is crying. She then summons her mother to the bathroom, where both women kneel in prayer.
“When David and Jerry Seinfeld (playing himself) are asked if they ever experienced a miracle, David answers, ‘every erection is a miracle,’ Donohue’s statement continued. “That’s what passes for creativity these days.”
…
“Somebody should [apologize],” Hudson said. “When is it going to stop? When is common sense going to dictate that people realize this willingness of artists to do to Christianity what they would never do to Judaism or Islam.”The episode, “The Bare Midriff,” primarily revolves around David’s assistant and her belly-revealing attire. According to the show’s Web site, a “new pill” increased David’s urine flow, leading to the “misunderstanding about a miraculously weeping Jesus.”
HBO promoted the controversial scene on the show’s site, complete with a “squirm-o-meter” that ranked the urine incident, ahead of David’s confronting his assistant about her exposed midriff.

Harry Reid Will “Vaporize” His Opponents
Posted by: | Commentspolitico.com reports about Senate Leader Harry Reid’s plans to “vaporize” his Republican opponents in the 2010 elections.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is prepared to run a sharply negative campaign if that’s what it takes to win reelection next year, with a top adviser predicting that the Nevada Democrat will “vaporize” his Republican challengers with attack ads.
Trailing in the polls and under constant attack from the GOP, Reid’s campaign has just launched a warm-and-fuzzy million-dollar ad campaign to reintroduce the veteran senator to his constituents. But Reid’s team also wants to be the one that introduces lesser-known opponents to the electorate — and will be ready, when the time comes, to unleash a torrent of ads branding challengers as untested and unprepared for the job.
Now in the campaign’s sights: Sue Lowden, a wealthy gaming executive, former state senator and former chairwoman of the Nevada Republican Party, and Danny Tarkanian, a Las Vegas businessman and the son of legendary basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian.
“I expect him to vaporize Lowden or Tarkanian or whoever is the opponent,” said a Reid adviser, speaking on the condition of anonymity in order to discuss campaign strategy.
Both Lowden and Tarkanian answered in kind Tuesday.
“Nevadans have tired of Harry Reid’s angry, vindictive threats – but today’s threat is one that must be taken seriously,” she said in a statement. “After all, Sen. Reid has shown remarkable skill in vaporizing Nevada jobs, Nevada homeowners, Nevada tax dollars, our seniors’ access to a solvent Medicare program and our residents’ private health care choices.”

Posted by: | CommentsRep. Maxine Waters does not open her mouth except to change her feet. In an interview on the comical MSNBC channel, she stands by Rep. Charles Rangel as she downplays the serious allegations against Rangel of failure to disclose sources of income and pay taxes.
Says Walters, “I want to tell you, there are many members who, if you go back over all of their records, over all of the years, you’re going to find that there were disclosures that were not made”.

As expected, the House voted against Congressman John Carter’s resolution to remove Rangel as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee pending the completion of an investigation into the charges against him.
