Senator Max Baucus, Democrat from Montana Drunk on the US Senate Floor debating National health Care.

Article From Politco

Newsbusters.org writes: “How can one explain this incredibly bizarre performance by Max Baucus on the Senate floor? Was Baucus so intoxicated by the sound of his own voice that he went off the deep end? Or perhaps he was so drunk with power over shaping the Senate health care bill that it explains his strange rant.”

On his Facebook page, former congressman Mark Foley commented on the video: “This is the senator that hired his staffer and then took her on trips…and divorced his wife….and they had me run out of town.”

Toy Company’s Animated Series Riles Global Warming Skeptics

Global warming skeptics are blasting Build-A-Bear Workshop for being anything but soft and cuddly, accusing the well-known toy company of trying to indoctrinate young children with a series of videos warning of the effects of climate change.

The three-part video series, “Under the North Star: An Uplifting Christmas Experience,” features a cartoon polar bear who warns Santa Claus that global warming is a “serious situation,” one that could wreak havoc on the environment and potentially cause the North Pole to vanish by Christmas.

Critics say the Overland, Mo.-based company advocated a political stance to children, prompting the removal of the videos and a statement from Build-A-Bear founder and CEO Maxine Clark, who insisted the video series was intended to “inspire” children to make a difference as individuals.

“A mountain? A mountain’s gone?” Santa asked on the video, which has been yanked from the company’s Web site but can still be viewed on remains accessible on YouTube. “How is that possible?”

The bear responds, “Santa, sir, that’s why I’m here. That’s why we’re here. The ice is melting.”

Yes, my dear, we know, the climate is changing,” Santa replies. “There’s bound to be a little melting.”

“It’s worse than that, Santa,” the polar bear replies. “A lot worse. At the rate it’s melting, the North Pole will be gone by Christmas.”

Michael Graham, a radio talk show host on Boston’s WTKK, said the video was “nothing but panic” and did little to educate children.

“There’s not a lot about what kids can actually do, nothing about, ‘Hey, go pick up litter in your local park,’ or whatever,” Graham told Fox News on Thursday. “This is pure propaganda targeting at little minds and then its left up to us parents to clean up the mess.”

Maura Flynn, a contributor to BigGovernment.com, called for a boycott of the company, saying the video amounted to “brainwashing on the sleaziest and most sinister” level.

“People, we have the means, if we have the will, to topple these charlatans who shamelessly prey on little children,” Flynn wrote.

In her statement on the Build-a-Bear Web site, Clark noted that the video concluded with Santa successfully delivering gifts worldwide.

“Our intention with the polar bear story was to inspire children, through the voices of our animal characters, to make a difference in their own individual ways,” Clark said in a statement. “We did not intend to politicize the topic of global climate change or offend anyone in any way.”

“The webisodes will no longer be available on the site,” the statement said.

Global Warming Sing-Along

Posted by: inThane | Comments (0)

Ya’ll know the melody, so sing along with us now..

I’m dreaming of a warm Christmas
Beneath these several feet of snow.
Where we ski while boating,
While Al Gore’s gloating,
And telling folks, “I told you so.”

I’m dreaming of a warm Christmas,
Anthropogenically I light
Three more duraflames every night,
So this global warming must be slight.

And now another popular favorite, but it’s not quite “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”

I’ll be warm for Christmas
Though it’s one degree,
I’d burn some coal
But some ath-hole
Has capped and traded me.

I’ll be warm for Christmas
Though the cold’s extreme.
Yes, I’ll be warm for Christmas
But only in in Al’s dream.

Roseanne Barr: Palin is ‘Slave to Right-Wing Men,’ ‘Against All Other Women’

Friday’s Joy Behar Show on CNN Headline News showed a pre-recorded interview with Roseanne Barr in which Barr opined that, although Sarah Palin is “likable,” the “stuff she says is half nuts,” and she’s “half crazy and out of her mind.” Barr — who herself has a recent history of doing such bizarre things as appearing in Heeb magazine dressed as Adolf Hitler removing Jewish gingerbread cookies from an oven — went on to declare that Palin is “like a slave to these, you know, right-wing men. That’s like the only way a right-wing woman can make it.”

Barr soon added: “The only way a woman can make it in the right wing, or the conservative, whatever the hell you want to call it, Republican, is to be against all other women. And that is what she does.”

Ironically, just moments later as she and Behar expressed disapproval at the man who recently threw tomatoes at Palin, Barr was critical of liberals who have treated the former Alaska governor “badly because she’s female,” calling it “disgusting.” Barr: “I don’t like where she is treated like badly because she’s female. I think that’s so wrong, and I think the left and the liberals are disgusting to do that.”

Matthews Frets Over ‘Idiots’ in America ‘Riling’ Up ‘White Tribalism,’ Shows anti-Obama Protesters

On the Sunday, December 13, syndicated Chris Matthews Show, as he ended the show with words of praise for Morgan Freeman’s latest film, Invictus, and its depiction of Nelson Mandela uniting blacks and whites in South Africa in the 1990s, host Matthews referred to “white tribalism” having been stirred up in America, and showed clips of anti-Obama protesters.

Matthews: “In this world of ours today, it seems that any idiot – almost any idiot can rally the forces of tribalism, including white tribalism in this country. You can do it with a frown or a smile – easiest thing in the world to rile people back to their roots, get them thinking with all the rage of their grandparents.”

While one of the three clips of protesters did show someone holding a sign with an image of President Obama with the words “undocumented worker” on it — reminiscent of the fringe conspiracy theory that President Obama was not born in America — another clip showed protesters displaying generic anti-liberal and anti-socialism messages, while the third clip showed a sign with the words, “You lie!” invoking South Carolina Republican Congresssman Joe Wilson’s outburst from the last State of the Union Address.

Copenhagen climate summit: Tony Blair calls on world leaders to ‘get moving’

The world must take action on climate change at Copenhagen even if the science is not correct, Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister has suggested.

Jimmy Carter: Abuse of Women? Blame the Catholics and Southern Baptists

In an address to a gathering sponsored by the World Parliament of Religions (PWR) last Friday, former US President Jimmy Carter has once again blamed traditional religion, particularly Southern Baptists and Roman Catholics, for “creating an environment where violations against women are justified.”

It is a theme that Carter has successfully used to garner media attention for several years.

Although in a July column in The Observer Carter admits to “not having training in religion or theology,” in his address to the PWR Carter appeals to his authority as someone who has “taught Bible lessons for more than 65 years.”

In opposition to the vast majority of authentic scholars and historians, Carter asserted: “It’s clear that during the early Christian era women served as deacons, priests, bishops, apostles, teachers and prophets.” He added: “It wasn’t until the 4th century or the 3rd at the earliest that dominant Christian leaders, all men, twisted and distorted Holy Scriptures to perpetuate their ascendant position within the religious hierarchy.”

Contrary to the theorizing of Carter, Pope John Paul II taught, “The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry.” He added: “the Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church; 1577)

Carter singled out the Southern Baptist Convention and Roman Catholic Church, claiming that they “view that the Almighty considers women to be inferior to men.” However, both Christian faiths hold to the Scriptural truth that God created men and women equal.

Carter suggests that only in permitting women to become priests and pastors could male religious leaders choose to interpret teachings to exalt rather than subjugate women. “They have, for their own selfish ends, overwhelmingly chosen the latter, subjugation,” he said.

Hey, Jan Schakowsky: Stop scaring people

Yesterday, President Obama lectured the GOP to “stop trying to frighten the American people.”

Tell it to Democrat Rep. Jan Schakowsky, who’s invoking “back alleys and hangers” in her attacks on moderate, pro-life Democrats and Republicans who oppose Demcare government subsidies for abortion.
